Reflection 5

Wow what can I say except that out of all my online courses I have taken this has to be the most interesting and learning experience of them all. In the fall I will be taking 3 classes online and I think by taking this course will not only enhance my research knowledge but assist me in anything I do in school or work. The advantages of online classes is that for some who works 40+ hours as i do sometimes, I can come home and work at my own pace as long as i keep up, but it also has it draw backs like if you really need some help and the instructor may not be there or being able to turn to a classmate and request assistant. As i stated in my early blog I thought i was signing up for a easy course, but by no means was this an easy course, it was challanging and very informative. I really recommend this course to anyone who even thinks that they have research technique down, because trust me when you take this course you will find that you know nothing. TAKE THE COURSE!!!!!!

Good Luck to all in the Fall

Hello Mrs. Figgins....

You make a good point when talking about getting assistance. Though I think the online environment is as effective as a real classroom, there are times when a student might need some extra assistance, and there is no fellow pupil in the seat next to you, and also, the instructor is not available 24/7. So if you decide to do your coursework at 12 midnight, it might be little difficult to get some help. I figure as distance learning grows in popularity, this concern will eventually be addressed. Until then...we just gotta manage our class times more efficiently..

I just wanted to say that my experience was quite the opposite when it came to getting assistance..and boy did I need it this summer. Ms Laney always responded to my emails about questions and other ares in a very timely and prompt manner. Also she provided me the chance to meet with her face to face (I believe she posted this for the whole class)when I needed help the most!
